Yes. All analysis — classification, color, face clustering, deduplication — happens entirely on your iPhone using Apple’s built-in Vision and Core Image frameworks. Your photos are never uploaded during this step. Only small, compressed thumbnails are sent to AI for visual analysis and are discarded immediately after. Full privacy policy.

Only tiny, low-quality thumbnails (not your original photos) are sent to Google Gemini for visual understanding. They’re created in temporary memory, sent over HTTPS, and deleted the instant analysis is complete. Nothing is stored on any server. A second AI model (Claude) receives only a text summary — it never sees any images at all.

No. There are no accounts, no logins, no email collection, no Apple ID tracking, and no advertising identifiers. Anonymous session analytics (a random ID, not linked to you) are kept for up to 30 days for app improvement, then permanently deleted. Read the details.

No. Once your personality card is generated, everything is discarded. Thumbnails are never written to disk. There is nothing to see, retrieve, or leak after the session ends.

Astrology uses your birth date. Random quizzes use generic questions. PhotoDecoded uses your actual behavior — what you photograph, when, how often, the colors you’re drawn to, who you’re with. These are real behavioral signals backed by published research, not horoscopes. See the studies.

On your device: photo categories (selfies, food, nature, people, screenshots), color properties (saturation, brightness, warm/cool ratio), timestamps (when you take photos, late-night patterns), face patterns (who appears most), and duplicate detection. The AI then adds context — understanding what’s in the photos, the emotional tone, and surprising patterns humans wouldn’t catch.

Some personality traits — like agreeableness — can’t be detected from photos alone (published research confirms this). The questions fill those gaps. They’re also personalized to what the scan finds: if you have a lot of food photos, it’ll ask about your relationship with cooking. If it detects a partner, it’ll ask about your dynamic.

Yes. It works with any library size. More photos give a richer, more accurate card, but even a few hundred photos produce meaningful results. If you have fewer than 30 photos, the AI adjusts its confidence accordingly.
